Sewing Instructor

Instructor: Amy Lish. I am a 43 year old mother of 5 darling children. I have recently opened a sewing studio in my home in Summerlin. I live in a smoke free environment!:) My sister owns a wonderful fabric store and has offered me many wonderful tools for my little studio. I will take children from 8 to adults. I have been sewing since I was a little girl and it is a passion and love of mine!

I focus on beginning skills and we move on from there. I do not get very complicated! I want to teach the joys of creativity and how we can use our resources to be self-sufficient. I love to craft and quilt. I do very simple clothing projects. I am a huge advocate of community service so I will always have a service project available. I am currently working on a project to donate pillow cases to homeless shelters and childrens hospitals. We are having a blast! The goal is 1 million in 2010. This is a huge project across America.
Please feel free to contact me. I would love to share my skills with others.

In using a multi-sensory language program to teach a student to read, write, and spell, great success can happen for the struggling reader. The program I use is phonics based, and multi-sensory. All learning modalities (audio, visual, kinesthetic) are used, thus allowing identification of and strengthening of any weaknesses the student may have while, at the same time, fortifying his innate or already acquired learning strengths.
